BB&T Gives $1 Million to WCF

Jonathan Kresken, President (WCF) Frank Bullard, President (BB&T)	On Thursday, July 26, representatives from the Waccamaw Community Foundation (WCF) accepted a $1 million gift from BB&T as a part of the bank's ongoing commitment to the greater Myrtle Beach region and supporters of Coastal Federal Bank. Coastal Federal merged with BB&T in May. "I cannot tell you how pleased I am that BB&T recognizes the value and impact Coastal Federal has had in this community through the years," said Mike Gerald, chief executive officer of Coastal Federal. "BB&T is making a strong statement that we will continue to support this community." "Supporting the communities in which we operate is one of the four key tenets of our mission statement," said Frank Bullard, president of the BB&T Coastal Region.

Only the income from the fund will be used every year. In that way, the donation is truly a lasting gift. Every year it will continue to generate funds to help the Foundation maximize it's potential. "BB&T has given us an overwhelmingly generous gift" said Jonathan Kresken, President of the Waccamaw Community Foundation. "Since only the annual income from this fund will be used, it is a gift that will continue to support the Waccamaw Community Foundation every year forever. We are fortunate to have the support of visionary leaders who care about making the Waccamaw Region a better place to live."
