John Draughn Family Fund Announces 2010 Educational Scholarship Recipients

John Draughn Family Fund Scholarships Awarded to Local Students
 
Murrells Inlet, SC, (June 07, 2010) — The Waccamaw Community Foundation (WCF) is pleased to announce two recipients of educational scholarships from the John Draughn Family Fund. Both recipients graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School. Jamesha Gore was awarded a $2,000 scholarship and will be attending Horry Georgetown Technical College to earn an Associates of Art Degree. Her long-term goal is to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Marketing and become a Certified Public Accountant. Savanna Stevens will use her $1,500 scholarship to attend Coastal Carolina University to secure a Bachelors Degree in Science and pursue a career in real estate. Both students were chosen for academic achievement, leadership potential and commendable moral character.
 
The Waccamaw Community Foundation manages the John Draughn Family Fund, an endowment fund that was established in 2004 to help North Myrtle Beach students attend college. The scholarships were created specifically to assist students bound for Coastal Carolina University or Horry Georgetown Technical College to study business.
