Allan Blum Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 is to be awarded to a Conway High School Senior who maintains high moral principles, is trustworthy, and exhibits leadership qualities.
Criteria for Selection:

Applicant must attend the University of South Carolina

A GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale is required.

Applicant must show financial need.

An essay of 700 words or less is required telling why you feel you should receive the scholarship.

An official transcript must be included.

Nominations must be received through the Conway High School Guidance Department.
Scholarship deadline is May 5th.

During the week of November 12-18, 2011, the Waccamaw Community Foundation will join more than 700 community foundations across America for Community Foundation Week.
Through an endowment created by Peter and Betsy Barr in memory of Frank Thompson, the Derricks will be given the opportunity to present a not-for-profit charity of choice with a $1,000 donation and the distinction of the Frank A. Thompson II Citizenship Award.
