Legacies for Changing Lives

Who We Are

Since 1999, area residents have been turning to the Waccamaw Community Foundation to make their philanthropic giving as effective as possible.  We are a public charity, serving thousands of people who share a common concern… Improving the quality of life in Horry and Georgetown counties.

The Waccamaw Community Foundation helps individuals, families, businesses and organizations create permanent charitable funds that help our community meet the challenges of changing times.  The Foundation invests and administers these funds.

The Foundation uses distributions from the various funds to award grants to many of the humanitarian, educational and cultural organizations in this remarkable community we call home.

The Waccamaw Community Foundation has been, and will continue to be, a vital resource for the ever-changing region we love to call home.  We encourage you to ask questions and learn more about why Community Foundations represent the fastest growing arm of philanthropy in the nation.  It’s a concept that works and an experience that will engage you in a very personal and memorable way.
