It’s one of our favorite times of the year here at Waccamaw Community Foundation – scholarship season! If you’re ever feeling uncertain about the future, take a moment to meet one of the young adults applying for scholarships at WCF. Our region is going to be in great hands in the next few decades.
Waccamaw Community Foundation offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Horry and Georgetown Counties, as well as college students enrolled at higher education institutions like University of South Carolina, Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, Horry Georgetown Technical College, and many more. Some of these scholarships are geared towards academic achievement, and others award students for strength of character and leadership potential.
This year, we have two new scholarships available to college students already enrolled in their Major programs — the Thomas W. Jones Memorial Scholarship and the Mildred E. Swatko Memorial Scholarship.
If you know an exceptional student who might be interested in learning more, send them to our Scholarship Opportunities page for more information. Applications open on March 1, with a deadline of April 2.
